ArcelorMittal Slide and Prosecco
Enjoy a fantastic visit to the Arcelor Mittal in Greater London, the UK’s tallest sculpture and part of the lasting legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games. Designed by artist Anish Kapoor, the ArcelorMittal is 114.5m tall and towers over Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, its red scaffolding swirls making it a striking addition to the landscape.
Not for the fainthearted, this adrenalin pumping experience is an absolute blast as you shoot through the world’s longest tunnel slide. At 178m high, you and a friend can spiral down the UK’s tallest public artwork, shooting through light and dark whilst taking in (and we use that term loosely) the dramatic cityscape views as you go.
During your 40 second trip, you’ll cruise at speeds of up to 15 miles per hour, weaving your way through the ArcelorMittal Orbit’s iconic loops and curves. Build up some momentum in the corkscrewing ‘bettfeder’ or ‘bedspring,’ before finishing up your run with a 50m hurtle straight back down to earth.
Back on terra firma, you can stagger over to the Podium Bar & Kitchen at the base of the Orbit for a much needed bottle of Prosecco. Raise a glass to your downward spiral, before pouring another in celebration of an unforgettable day.
This nerve-wracking experience is available from Virgin Experience at £62 for TWO. If you are brave enough, simply follow the Book Now button for further details of this particular experience and other experiences at the ArcelorMittal Slide. These range from:
