Enjoy a delicious The Snowman™ themed Afternoon Tea in the beautiful and relaxing surrounds of Healing Manor in the heart of the East Lincolnshire countryside.

As Raymond Brigg’s original picture book The Snowman, celebrates its 40th anniversary Healing Manor’s The Snowman™ afternoon tea is packed full of delicious homemade savoury and sweet, bite-sized treats inspired by one of Christmas’ most loved characters.

Served in The Portman restaurant, which is set inside the main manor house and aptly named after its previous owners The Portman family and estate, The Snowman afternoon tea can be also be enjoyed as gluten free, vegetarian or vegan. Designed by Steven Bennett and Pastry Chef Daniel Parkes, The Snowman afternoon tea is quite the nostalgic journey, depicting scenes from Briggs’ eloquent picture book, and traditional festive flavours with a mixture of classic and modern pastry techniques.

Warm elements include a cup of lightly spiced butternut squash and orange soup, inspired by The Snowman’s tangerine nose, followed with a miniature Yorkshire pudding with horseradish mash, beef brisket and gravy. Other savouries include a Lincolnshire sausage roll with a sprinkling of onion seeds and two festive sandwiches; roast turkey, stuffing, spinach and mayonnaise and brie and cranberry.

Whilst an afternoon tea just wouldn’t be without a scone, jam and cream, the team behind The Snowman Afternoon Tea have created a stolen infused scone which is served with clotted cream and a delicious mulled wine jam.

Decedent miniature desserts complete the afternoon tea with a peppermint and chocolate flavoured Santa dressed macaron which will disappear in a mouth full. Gingerbread is dressed as the young boy’s striped pyjamas from the original picture book, and a Terry’s chocolate orange a white chocolate truffle is disguised as The Snowman. Other treats include a mulled wine winter fruit tart and eggnog flavoured donut, topped with cinnamon icing sugar.

Whilst each Snowman afternoon tea is served with a choice of Stokes of Lincoln tea or coffee, Healing Manor Hotel boasts an extensive, wine, champagne and gin offering, alongside their festive cocktail.

This gorgeous afternoon tea is being served every Wednesday – Sunday throughout up until 6th January 2019.
