The original site for the church dates back to AD604 but today’s present cathedral was built in the late 17th century as part of a major rebuilding programme in the City following the Great Fire of London. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren it reflects the English Baroque style. St Paul’s Cathedral is one of London’s most significant landmarks and its iconic dome, framed by the spires of Wren’s City Churches, has dominated the city skyline for over 300 years.
